Article Synopsis
  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a lifelong condition affecting social skills and behaviors, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the best-recognized treatment, though access is limited by professional shortages and financial barriers.
  • A new study explored using parent behavior technicians (pBTs) to deliver ABA to children with varying severity levels of ASD and found significant improvements in adaptive behaviors and reductions in interfering behaviors after treatment.
  • Despite some limitations in the study, the pBT model shows promise in enhancing ABA accessibility and efficacy, demonstrating improved outcomes compared to traditional ABA delivery methods.
