Objectives: To evaluate the ability of the plaque characteristics of extracranial carotid and intracranial arteries to predict large atherosclerotic ischemic stroke recurrence via head and neck combined high-resolution vessel wall imaging (HR-VWI).

Methods: This prospective cohort study included 169 patients with large atherosclerotic ischemic stroke who underwent head and neck combined HR-VWI from April 2022 to May 2023. The baseline clinical data and atherosclerotic plaque characteristics of the intracranial and extracranial carotid arteries were collected, and the patients were followed up for 1 year, with the endpoint event defined as recurrent ischemic stroke.

Concerning the progression of societies and the evolution of lifestyle and dietary habits, the potential for the development of human malignancies, particularly colorectal cancer (CRC), has markedly escalated, positioning it as one of the most prevalent and lethal forms of cancer globally. Empirical evidence indicates that the metabolic processes of cancerous and healthy cells can significantly impact immune responses and the fate of tumors. Arginine, a multifaceted amino acid, assumes a crucial and paradoxical role in various metabolic pathways, as certain tumors exhibit arginine auxotrophy while others do not.

Z boson events at the Large Hadron Collider can be selected with high purity and are sensitive to a diverse range of QCD phenomena. As a result, these events are often used to probe the nature of the strong force, improve Monte Carlo event generators, and search for deviations from standard model predictions. All previous measurements of Z boson production characterize the event properties using a small number of observables and present the results as differential cross sections in predetermined bins.

Purpose: Liquid biopsy technology has received widespread attention in the early diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma (CCA).

Methods: We collected bile samples from 48 patients with CCA and 48 patients with gallstones at Shandong Provincial third Hospital. We quantified bile circulating free DNA (cfDNA) of syncytin-1 and SLC7A11, calculated the correlation between syncytin-1 and SLC7A11 expression and clinical parameters by Spearman rank correlation, plotted Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves, and compared the Area Under Curve (AUC) values to explored early diagnostic utility in patients.

Aims: There are limited data on programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in oesophageal cancer (OC) from multicentre studies conducted across China. We aimed to determine the prevalence of high PD-L1 expression in patients with advanced OC.

Methods: The EXCEED study was a multicentre, retrospective analysis of data from six tertiary hospitals that evaluated PD-L1 expression in adults with advanced OC or advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
