Biocatalytic cascades with spatial proximity can orchestrate multistep pathways to form metabolic highways, which enhance the overall catalytic efficiency. However, the effect of spatial organization on catalytic activity is poorly understood, and multienzyme architectural engineering with predictable performance remains unrealized. Here, we developed a standardized framework, called iMARS, to rapidly design the optimal multienzyme architecture by integrating high-throughput activity tests and structural analysis.

Timely ketone detection in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is critical for the effective management of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). This systematic review evaluates the current literature on breath-based analysis for ketone detection in T1DM, highlighting nanotechnology as a potential for a non-invasive alternative to blood-based ketone measurements. A comprehensive search across 5 databases identified 11 studies meeting inclusion criteria, showcasing various breath analysis techniques, such as semiconducting gas sensors, colorimetry, and nanoparticle-based chemo-resistive sensors.

Background: Hypothyroidism is a common sequela after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has gained prominence in thyroid imaging, leveraging its non-ionizing radiation, high spatial resolution, multiparameter and multidirectional imaging. Few previous studies have investigated the evaluation of radiation-induced thyroid injury by MRI.

Chemerin, an adipocyte-secreted adipokine, can regulate bone resorption and bone formation and is a promising therapy for postmenopausal osteoporosis. However, the effect of endogenous chemerin on intraosseous vascular remodeling in postmenopausal osteoporosis remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of chemerin on osteogenesis formation and intraosseous vascular remodeling in ovariectomized Rarres2 knockout (Rarres2) mice.
