Background: Lack of trust in artificial intelligence (AI) models in medicine is still the key blockage for the use of AI in clinical decision support systems (CDSS). Although AI models are already performing excellently in systems medicine, their black-box nature entails that patient-specific decisions are incomprehensible for the physician. Explainable AI (XAI) algorithms aim to "explain" to a human domain expert, which input features influenced a specific recommendation.

A comparison of psychological and pharmacological treatment of pediatric migraine.

A comparison was carried out of the efficacy of psychological and drug treatments for children with migraine. Forty-three children aged between 8 and 16 years (mean age: 11.3 years) who suffered from migraine received either progressive relaxation or cephalic vasomotor feedback, both with stress management training, or metoprolol, a beta-blocker.

Privatization of a public hospital: a quality improvement strategy.

Public hospitals face mounting challenges posed by the rise of managed care, increasing hospital competition, growing responsibilities in indigent care, and stagnant public sector revenues. Privatization exists as a viable strategy for reengineering the structure and operation of public hospitals to meet the new demands of quality and efficiency imposed by a rapidly changing health care environment.

This study aimed at investigating the relation between psychological diabetes-related health behavior, and metabolic aspects of diabetes. Fifty-one adult patients with type I diabetes mellitus took part in the study. Psychological status, health, and self-care behavior were assessed by means of questionnaires.
