Purpose: To report a case of diffuse lamellar keratitis (DLK) associated with acute anterior uveitis that occurred 3 years after uneventful LASIK in a patient with a history of ankylosing spondylitis and recurrent acute anterior uveitis.
Methods: A 36-year-old man presented with pain and decreased vision in the left eye. Left eye visual acuity was 20/100.
We assessed and compared the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness in normal eyes, ocular hypertensives, preperimetric glaucoma and glaucomatous subjects by means of optical coherence tomography in 449 eye. RNFL in glaucoma patients was significantly thinner than in normal subjects in every location evaluated. Use of optical coherence tomography detects glaucomatous RNFL losses in preperimetric glaucoma and can improve our ability to detect structural damage in clinical practice.

The extrusion trials were performed with one of the ceramic bodies currently being used in a local brick factory for red facing bricks (RB) production. Fresh water or OWW was added to a final consistency of 2.

Methods: In order to identify the potentially relevant RCTs, a systematic literature retrieval was conducted in Medline, Embase and Cochrane Controlled Trials Register (1995-April 2007) databases The outcome measure was the appearance of conjunctival hyperaemia during the study. Statistical analyses included the calculation of odds ratio (OR) and its respective confidence interval, along with intertrial statistical heterogeneity.
Purpose: To evaluate the possible correlation between the visual field defects in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and the expression and enzymatic activity of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) isoenzymes and nitrotyrosine in trabecular meshwork (TM) samples.
Methods: TM specimens were collected from 146 patients with POAG by using standard filtration surgery. Visual field defects were evaluated by perimetry.
