Background: Psilocybin therapy (PT) produces rapid and persistent antidepressant effects in major depressive disorder (MDD). However, the long-term effects of PT have never been compared with gold-standard treatments for MDD such as pharmacotherapy or psychotherapy alone or in combination.

Methods: This is a 6-month follow-up study of a phase 2, double-blind, randomised, controlled trial involving patients with moderate-to-severe MDD.

Scaffolding catalytic reactions within porous materials is a powerful strategy to enhance the reaction rates of multicatalytic systems. However, it remains challenging to develop materials with high porosity, high diversity of functional groups within the pores, and guest-adaptive tunability. Furthermore, it is challenging to capture large catalysts such as enzymes within porous materials.

Cell-cell interactions govern diverse biological activities, necessitating molecular tools for understanding and regulating these interactions. Photoredox chemistry can detect cell-cell interactions by anchoring photocatalysts on cellular membranes to generate reactive species that tag closely contacting cells. However, the activation of photocatalysts lacks precise spatial resolution for selectively labeling intercellular interfaces.

Article Synopsis
  • A study examined how robotic assistance affects hip offset changes and the occurrence of trochanteric bursitis in total hip arthroplasty (THA) patients.
  • The research reviewed data from 211 patients, comparing results from those who had traditional versus robotic THA over three years.
  • Findings showed that robotic THA had less change in hip offset and lower rates of symptomatic bursitis and steroid injections compared to traditional THA.
