A population-based study of severity of injuries in recreational mountain biking - Discontinued rise following efforts.

Background: During the recent years, an increase in the number of people practicing recreational mountain biking has been observed. The high-risk sport can cause severe injuries. The most severe injuries involve paralysis and head traumas.

Incidence and Prevalence of Concussion in Denmark from 1999 to 2018: A Nationwide Cohort Study.

Concussion is a common diagnosis in emergency rooms, yet contemporary incidence and prevalence estimates are sparse and rely on self-reported data. A nationwide cohort study was conducted to provide up-to-date information, covering the entire Danish population from 1999 to 2018. Hospital contacts with a concussion diagnosis, including emergency room visits, hospital admissions, and outpatient contacts, were retrieved from the Danish National Patient Registry (DNPR), and incidence rates were age-standardized and stratified.

Molecular properties and diagnostic potential of monoclonal antibodies targeting cytotoxic α-synuclein oligomers.

α-Synuclein (α-syn) accumulates as insoluble amyloid but also forms soluble α-syn oligomers (αSOs), thought to be even more cytotoxic than fibrils. To detect and block the unwanted activities of these αSOs, we have raised 30 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against different forms of αSOs, ranging from unmodified αSOs to species stabilized by lipid peroxidation products and polyphenols, αSOs formed by C-terminally truncated α-syn, and multivalent display of α-syn on capsid virus-like particles (cVLPs). While the mAbs generally show a preference for αSOs, they also bind fibrils, but to variable extents.

Data to Care Pilot Program in Chicago: Experience, Outcomes, and Direction for the Future.

Context: Data to Care (D2C) involves sharing HIV surveillance data between health care facilities and health departments to improve continuity of care for people living with HIV (PLWH). The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) initiated a D2C pilot program at the University of Chicago Medicine (UCM) from June 2016 to September 2019.

Objectives: To describe the proportion of patients reported by UCM as not in care who were able to be matched to CDPH enhanced HIV/AIDS Reporting System (eHARS) and to report the individual-level factors associated with matching and viral suppression.

Use of Risk Factors To Select Adjuvant Therapy Versus Surveillance for Testicular Nonseminoma and Seminoma Germ Cell Tumors.

New risk factors associated with relapse of stage I testicular cancer have been identified. These new factors reflect the risk of recurrence much better than previous parameters and can be used to assess the possible effect of adjuvant chemotherapy.
