Surgical Faculty Perception of Service-Based Advanced Practice Provider Impact: A Southwestern Surgical Congress Multicenter Survey.

Background: A previous single-center survey of trauma and general surgery faculty demonstrated perceived positive impact of trauma and surgical subspecialty service-based advanced practice providers (SB APPs). The aim of this multicenter survey was to further validate these findings.

Methods: Faculty surgeons on teams that employ SB APPs at 8 academic centers completed an electronic survey querying perception about advanced practice provider (APP) competency and impact.

Immediate Postpartum Intrauterine Device in HIV-Infected Women: Experience from a Tertiary Care Center in Côte d'Ivoire.

Background: Immediate postpartum intrauterine device (PPIUD) is a good solution for reducing low contraceptive coverage in developing countries. However, its use in HIV-infected women is poorly documented. The objective of this study was to assess whether the risk of PPIUD complications was higher in HIV-infected women.

Introduction: Family planning is a high impact strategy to reduce maternal mortality and to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV. This study aims to describe contraceptive practices of HIV-infected women followed upon an ambulatory basis at the Treichville University Hospital.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional descriptive multicenter survey of people living with HIV in the ambulatory care units of the Treichville University Hospital from 1 April to 30 June 2016.

Level of Concordance of Pre-, Intra-, and Postoperative Staging in Cervical Cancers (TREYA Study).

Concomitant radiochemotherapy is the therapeutic standard for locally advanced (Ib2 to IVa stage FIGO) cervical cancer. In the absence of a radiotherapy in many of our Sub-Saharan African countries, surgical resection is the only therapeutic method available in hopes of achieving a definite cure. However, criteria for curative surgery are not always met due to preoperative understaging of most of our patients.

[Factors linked to late diagnosis in breast cancer in Sub-Saharan Africa: case of Côte d'Ivoire].

Objective: To identify in Ivorian environment, reasons involved in late diagnosis of breast cancer.

Patients And Methods: Retrospective study over 4 years (January 2008 to December 2011) including 350 patients with breast adenocarcinoma. A questionnaire was created and filled according to the medical files of the patients.
