The effect of moderate-late preterm (MLP; 32 to 36 completed weeks' gestation) birth on childhood respiratory health is unclear. To date, most drug discovery optimization paradigms have relied heavily on in vitro transporter assays and preclinical species pharmacokinetic evaluation to provide a qualitative assessment of human brain penetration. Because of the lack of human brain pharmacokinetic data, mechanistic models for preclinical species, combined with in vitro and in silico data, are useful for translation to human.

Purpose: We present a case of Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease (KFD) associated with bilateral optic neuropathy progressing to vision loss.
Observations: A 17-year-old male was referred for bilateral optic nerve pallor. Eight years prior, he was diagnosed with KFD after workup for lymphadenopathy and treated with prednisolone acutely followed by long-term Plaquenil.
Aim: This systematic review aimed to report on health outcomes of newborn babies admitted to special care nurseries up to age 1 year, and where possible, compare their outcomes with those of healthy term babies.
Methods: Systematic searches through Ovid MEDLINE, PubMed and Embase databases. We included studies reporting outcomes up to age 1 year for special care nursery babies and moderate-late preterm babies, restricting to studies published after 2000.
