Background: Diffuse pleural mesothelioma (dPM) is an aggressive malignancy, primarily treated with palliative systemic therapy. Since 2022, nivolumab-ipilimumab (nivo/ipi) has replaced chemotherapy as the standard first-line treatment for dPM in the Netherlands. Chemotherapy remains a rational second-line treatment.

Quantitative proteomics provides detailed insights into protein levels, enabling differentiation between distinct phenotypes. OLINK, a biotechnology company from Uppsala, Sweden, offers a targeted, affinity-based protein measurement method called Target 96, which has become prominent in the field of proteomics.

We assessed the preclinical potential of AAV5-GLA for treating Fabry disease, an X-linked hereditary metabolic disorder resulting from mutations in the gene encoding GLA that lead to accumulation of the substrates globotriaosylceramide and globotriaosylsphingosine, causing heart, kidney, and central nervous system dysfunction. Effects of intravenously administered AAV5-GLA were evaluated in (1) GLA-knockout mice aged 7-8 weeks (early in disease) and 20 weeks (nociception phenotype manifestation) and (2) cynomolgus macaques during an 8-week period.

It has been suggested that a profound CD8 T cell response within lymphoid tissues, a primary site for viral reservoirs, is crucial for achieving optimal viral control, potentially correlating with protection. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mRNA lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), including a modified variant containing α-galactosylceramide as an adjuvant, termed galsomes.
