Introduction: Russian military's incursion into Ukraine sparked the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. As Ukraine's neighboring country, Poland became the primary destination for these refugees. Ukrainians staying in Poland under the EU's Temporary Protection Directive receive humanitarian support similarly to asylum seekers, but the legal pathways, length of stay and integration processes differ significantly as the Directive provides for more immediate, collective protection without the complexity of individual asylum applications.

Article Synopsis
  • Scientific studies suggest that adding an indole group to triterpene compounds can enhance their cancer-fighting abilities, making lipophilicity a crucial factor in evaluating new drug candidates.
  • In this study, derivatives of 3 and/or 28-indole-betulin were tested for lipophilicity using reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography, with results showing a strong correlation between measured and theoretical lipophilicity values.
  • Despite the strong correlation with lipophilicity, there was no relationship between lipophilicity and anticancer activity; however, toxicity tests on zebrafish indicated that the compounds were non-toxic, aligning with in silico predictions.

Article Synopsis
  • - Patellar dislocations can cause ongoing instability and require a comprehensive treatment approach due to their complexity.
  • - Numerous repair and reconstruction techniques exist for patellar instability, indicating that there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution.
  • - The presented technique uses arthroscopic patellar stabilization with a single suture anchor and lateral release, making it simpler and more cost-effective without the need for drilling or graft harvesting.
