Condomless sexual encounters among female sex workers included in a longitudinal coital diary study in Zimbabwe.

Background: Compared with the general female population, female sex workers (FSWs) experience a greater burden of STIs, including HIV. Consistent condom use reduces HIV risk; however, while many FSWs are aware of condom efficacy, this knowledge does not consistently translate into use. We aimed to estimate the prevalence and patterns of condomless sex by partner type at the sexual encounter level, as well as identify factors associated with condomless sex among FSWs recruited into a diary study in Zimbabwe.

: Localization deficit is often said to be a symptom of Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). However, no clinically viable assessment of localization ability has been developed to date. The current study presents pilot data for a new assessment of absolute auditory localization using headphones.

Preventing HIV in women in Africa.

HIV incidence is declining globally, but around half of all new infections are in sub-Saharan Africa-where adolescent girls and young women bear a disproportionate burden of new infections. Those who sell sex are at particularly high risk. Despite declining incidence rates and availability of effective biomedical prevention tools, we are not on track, globally or in Africa, to achieve UNAIDS 2025 prevention targets.

Disparities in adult women's access to contraception during COVID-19: a multi-country cross-sectional survey.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, family planning services over the world have been disrupted. There are still uncertainties about the impact on access to contraception, particularly among marginalised populations. This study aimed to assess the effect of COVID-19 on women's access to contraception, focusing on those experiencing loss of income and self-isolation.

Background: Effective strategies to reduce sexually transmitted infection burden and transmission among female sex workers (FSWs) and their networks are needed. We report sexually transmitted infection prevalence among FSWs in Zimbabwe and investigate the performance of screening algorithms.

Methods: Respondent-driven sampling (RDS) surveys, including blood sampling for syphilis serology, were conducted among FSWs in 3 communities in Zimbabwe in 2017.
