Introduction: After cardiac arrest and successful resuscitation patients often present with hypoxic-ischemic brain injury, which is a major cause of death due to poor neurological outcome. The development of a robust histopathological scoring system for the reliable and easy identification and quantification of hypoxic-ischemic brain injury could lead to a standardization in the evaluation of brain damage. We wanted to establish an easy-to-use neuropathological scoring system to identify and quantify hypoxic-ischemic brain injury.

One way to enhance product sustainability is by reducing the carbon footprint of fossil-based plastic parts. Particle foams are a promising solution to achieve the goal of using lightweight parts with minimal material input.

Further work is required to determine whether this includes an increased risk of neurodegenerative disease and/or subsequent changes in cognition and behaviour. The Advanced BiomaRker, Advanced Imaging and Neurocognitive Health Study will prospectively examine the neurological, psychiatric, psychological and general health of retired elite-level rugby union and association football/soccer players.

Here, we analyzed ITIH5 promoter methylation and protein expression in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset and three tissue microarray cohorts (n = 618), respectively. Cellular effects, including cell migration, focal adhesion formation and protein tyrosine kinase activity, induced by forced ITIH5 expression in pancreatic cancer cell lines were studied in stable transfectants.
