Introduction And Importance: The curative options for locally advanced hepatocellular carcinomas involving the vessels are very limited. Ex vivo liver resection and auto transplantation (ERAT) is a novel surgical method, which has been used in the management of such complex liver space occupying lesions, which are rendered conventionally unresectable. This technique involves a complete hepatectomy, extracorporeal hepatic resection on the backbench, and then reimplantation of the remnant hepatic parenchyma.

Article Synopsis
  • The integration of CAD-CAM technology in restorative dentistry has changed the game by incorporating both additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques, yet questions about how print orientation affects the mechanical properties of 3D printed resin materials persist.
  • This study aimed to analyze how different print orientations and artificial aging impact the flexural strength (FS) and flexural modulus (FM) of selected 3D printed resins used for definitive and interim dental restorations.
  • Results showed that print orientation significantly affects FS and FM, with specimens printed at a 90-degree angle demonstrating better mechanical properties compared to other orientations, particularly among definitive resin materials.

The efficacy and osseointegration rate of an implant depend on its biocompatibility. Modern implantology seeks fast and reliable osseointegration, which is essential for clinical success. The objective of this research was to assess the osseointegration and biocompatibility of a titanium-titanium diboride composite (Ti-TiB) in rabbits in contrast to those of pure titanium (Ti).

Article Synopsis
  • Accurate gestational age (GA) prediction is essential for proper prenatal care, and traditional methods struggle with precision; this study proposes a deep learning approach utilizing fetal brain MRI images to enhance prediction accuracy.
  • The model, built on the Xception architecture and a multihead attention mechanism, was trained on a dataset of 52,900 images, demonstrating excellent performance with metrics like an R-squared value of 96.5% and a mean absolute error of just 3.80 days.
  • The model excels in different anatomical views and shows superior results compared to existing state-of-the-art methods, indicating its potential to significantly improve GA predictions in clinical settings.

Purpose: This study examined the effect of whitening and abrasive regular dentifrices on the surface characteristics and stain susceptibility of polymer-based CAD-CAM blocks subjected to artificial toothbrushing abrasion (TB).

Materials And Methods: Two resin composite blocks [CeraSmart (CS) and Grandio Blocs (GB)], one polymer-infiltrated ceramic [Vita Enamic (VE)], and one direct resin composite [GrandioSO (RC)] were used to produce 60 specimens. The baseline mass, gloss, roughness, Vickers hardness (Hv), and color were measured after 7 days of water storage.
