Even as many outcomes for people living with cystic fibrosis (PLwCF) improve, individuals still experience extensive symptom burdens. From birth, many PLwCF experience both pain as a symptom of their CF disease and procedural pain, posing detriments to health, functioning, and quality of life. Despite its prevalence and impact, there is no CF-specific guidance for the assessment and management of pain.

Phase-change memory (PCM) is a promising candidate for neuro-inspired, data-intensive artificial intelligence applications, which relies on the physical attributes of PCM materials including gradual change of resistance states and multilevel operation with low resistance drift. However, achieving these attributes simultaneously remains a fundamental challenge for PCM materials such as Ge Sb Te , the most commonly used material. Here bi-directional gradual resistance changes with ≈10× resistance window using low energy pulses are demonstrated in nanoscale PCM devices based on Ge Sb Te , a new phase-change nanocomposite material .

Introduction: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic disorder estimated to affect more than 160 000 individuals and their families worldwide. People living with CF commonly experience significant physical and emotional symptom burdens, disruptions to social roles and complex treatment decision making. While palliative care (PC) interventions have been shown to relieve many such burdens in other serious illnesses, no rigorous evidence exists for palliative care in CF.

Background: Chronic pain is common among people living with cystic fibrosis (CF) and associated with worse clinical outcomes. Despite this, little is known about how pain is managed and how opioids are used to treat pain. The purpose of this convergent mixed methods study was to examine self-reported satisfaction and effectiveness of pain management strategies among a sample of adults with CF who are prescribed opioids.
