The purpose of this literature review is to summarize studies of the use of multimedia technology by adolescents to engage in their healthcare promotion and disease prevention. A systematic literature review of relevant peer-reviewed research published between 2009 and 2014 was performed. The 16 articles reviewed were a combination of quantitative and mixed-method methodology based on the efficacy of multimedia, mobile technology, Short Messaging Services (SMS) texting, and social networking (e.

The concept of limiting irreversible damage due to ischemic arrest by inhibiting nucleoside breakdown was tested in the isolated perfused rat heart. Functional recovery measurements were combined with continuous high-energy phosphate measurements by means of 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and with nucleoside release measurements in the reperfusion period. The adenosine deaminase inhibitors erythro-9-(2-hydroxy-3-nonyl) adenine (EHNA) and 2'-deoxycoformycin (DCF) were given 5 min before ischemia and for the first 5 min of reperfusion.

The 400 MHz 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of sodium cholate in dilute aqueous solution has been successfully resolved using a combination of decoupling, partial relaxation, and decoupled partial relaxation techniques. The individual carbon resonances in the 13C-NMR spectrum of sodium cholate have also have assigned. Assignments of individual methylene protons were made by consideration of the molecular structure of sodium cholate and the expected couplings and 1H-nuclear Overhauser enhancement experiments.
