[Effects of urapidil by intravenous injection on pulmonary circulation and cardiac function in left ventricular failure].

The hemodynamic effects of urapidil were studied in 10 patients with secondary pulmonary hypertension investigated for the purpose of possible inclusion on a heart transplant waiting list. All patients gave their consent to participate. Nine patients had a dilated cardiomyopathy and 1 three-vessel coronary disease with diffuse hypokinesia.

[Microcirculatory hemodynamic effects of Urapidil (Eupressyl)].

A laser Doppler measurement of the microcirculatory flow rate was performed in 10 patients with moderate arterial hypertension before the delivery of a 30 mg capsule of Urapidil and 3 hours later. A significant increase in this flow rate was evidenced, thus demonstrating the arteriolar vasodilative action of Urapidil.

[Neoplastic pulmonary embolism. Apropos of a case diagnosed by transbronchial pulmonary biopsy].

The authors report a case of micro-pulmonary emboli of malignant cells observed in a 58 year old lady who had been submitted to a mastectomy for cancer 18 months before, followed by chemotherapy for six months. The patient entered into the terminal phase of her disease with dyspnoea which became rapidly incapacitating leading to her death ten weeks later, in spite of heparin therapy and chemotherapy. The diagnosis was furnished by a transbronchial biopsy.
