Background: On demand, topical PrEP is desired by those preferring episodic, nonsystemic PrEP. PC-1005 gel (MIV-150, zinc, and carrageenan) exhibits in vitro antiviral HIV-1, human papillomavirus (HPV), and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) activity, attractive for a multipurpose prevention technology candidate. We evaluated the safety, pharmacokinetics, and antiviral effect of rectally applied PC-1005.

The hybrid magnetoliposomes act as micro containers, providing the safe transfer of the enzyme to the reaction/detection site, where it is retained, and preconcentration of the enzyme in this place occurs, which improves the system's sensitivity. The use of pH change involves the lack of external molecules to release the encapsulated materials.

From our knowledge, this is the first study that explored the relative age effect (RAE) throughout the history of the Ballon d'Or. A total of 1899 football players nominated for the award from the first edition in 1956 to the most recent edition (2023) were analyzed.

The method is based on developing the enzymatic hydrolysis and oxidation of cholesterol at microscale size using both enzymes (cholesterol esterase (ChE) and cholesterol oxidase (ChOx)) immobilized on magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). The biocatalyst reactions were followed by monitoring the fluorescence decreasing by the naphtofluorescein (NF) oxidation in the presence of the previous HO formed.
