Background: There are insufficient data regarding the impact of acute respiratory distress syndrome related to coronavirus disease 2019 (C-ARDS) - caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) - on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and the occurrence of stress-related disorders in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) intensive care unit (ICU) survivors. The aim of this study is to assess HRQoL and the occurrence of stress-related disorders (acute stress disorder [ASD] and post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD]) in C-ARDS ICU survivors at 1 and 6 months following hospital discharge.

Methods: This prospective observational study included 90 patients treated for C-ARDS between March and May 2020 in the ICU and discharged alive from the hospital.

Objective: To evaluate the superiority of transcutaneous oxygen pressure (TcPO2) before, during and after peripheral transluminal angioplasty (PTA) in comparison with ankle brachial index (ABI) in patients with diabetes.

Methods: 40 consecutive patients with diabetes treated by PTA where included. This study shows results before, during and after PTA and their progression for 8 weeks.

Purpose: We evaluated the limitations of the ankle-brachial index (ABI) in the revascularisation of diabetic patients with critical limb ischaemia (CLI) who were undergoing peripheral transluminal angioplasty (PTA) compared with the degree of arterial stenosis and with transcutaneous oxygen tension (TcpO2).

Materials And Methods: This prospective study assessed 250 consecutive diabetic patients in whom we evaluated results of posterior tibial and dorsalis pedis Doppler, ABI, TcpO2, and duplex scans. In total, 104 patients were considered suitable candidates for PTA.

Background: In recent years, the use of peripheral transluminal angioplasty (PTA) procedures for revascularization of an ischemic limb has increased. Evaluation of reperfusion has been carried out by Doppler scan; however, a successful PTA does not necessarily result in improved oxygen delivery to the distal parts of the limb.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of the revascularization in diabetic patients with critical limb ischemia after treatment with PTA by comparing transcutaneous oxygen tension (TcpO₂) with the ankle-brachial index (ABI) post PTA.

We report the case of a 20-year-old woman with severe hypertension diagnosed two months previously. The symptoms and physical examination suggested the diagnosis of coarctation of the aorta, but a transthoracic echocardiogram and a thoracic CT scan were normal. Nevertheless, a severe stenosis of the thoracoabdominal aorta was demonstrated by transesophageal echocardiography.
