We investigated the role of a nanoporous particle on the formation of macroscopic solid in the framework of equilibrium thermodynamics and from the free-energy perspective. The model particle has cylindrical pores with equidistant circular openings on the particle surface. We focused on two potentially limiting steps: (i) the solid nucleation from liquid inside a single pore and (ii) the bridging of multiple pores on the particle surface.

Here, we directly evaluated the relationships between whole embryo contaminant concentrations and mRNA expression in liver tissue of the double-crested cormorant (). Eggs collected from three North American sites (one from Lake Erie and two from the Salish Sea) were artificially incubated until pipping.

Despite increased guidance on developing complex interventions in recent years, much of this focuses on the theory and principles behind high-quality intervention development, rather than the practical aspects of how this should be achieved. This paper shares the findings from an embedded, qualitative evaluation of the Collaborative Working Group (CWG) process, a structured approach we developed to iteratively refine a complex intervention prior to a randomised controlled trial.

This case report presents an atypical occurrence in a 32-year-old Hispanic female who presented with left lower quadrant pain, initially suspected to be diverticulitis or infectious colitis. Contrast-enhanced CT imaging revealed the characteristic findings of EA, a diagnosis that is rarely seen in young adult females.

FDA Exploratory Investigational New Drug status was obtained for the Phase 0 clinical trial in which study objectives were to determine whether biological variance ratio (BVR) of 10 was achievable, fluorescence intensity correlated with EGFR expression, and doses were well tolerated. Patients (N=12) with STS were recruited based on positive EGFR immunohistochemical staining of diagnostic biopsies.
