Current attempts to implement and apply automated control systems for the management of glucose homeostasis in individuals with diabetes are partly successful. In most semi and closed loop control systems to mimic the action of a normal pancreas in diabetes patients, insulin is administered subcutaneously. However, the parameters for insulin diffusion and transport time constants are relatively large and have wide individual variations.

This constructivist grounded theory (CGT) study examines Latter-day Saint (LDS) parents' process in coming to accept a transgender or gender diverse (TGD) child and the factors that impact acceptance. Data come from interviews with 38 LDS parents of TGD children and 130 Facebook posts from the same population. Data were analyzed using CGT methodology in coding and theory construction.

Background: During periods of high-volume vigorous exercise, United States Marine Corps recruits often experience musculoskeletal injuries. While the program of instruction (POI) for basic training is a defined training volume, the total workload of boot camp, including movements around the base, is unknown.
