Background: Chiari 1 malformation has crowding at craniovertebral junction (CVJ), treated by Foramen magnum decompression (FMD) but is associated with high failure rates, which is explained by recently introduced concept of central instability. So, we propose a new concept of relieving this crowding without affecting stability.
Objective: To derive a threshold for coring out of internal surface of C1 posterior arch instead of complete laminectomy accompanying FMD.
Remote island nations face a number of challenges in addressing concerns about shark population status, including access to rigorously collected data and resources to manage fisheries. At present, very little data are available on shark populations in the Solomon Islands and scientific surveys to document shark and ray diversity and distribution have not been completed. We aimed to provide a baseline of the relative abundance and diversity of reef sharks and rays and assess the major drivers of reef shark abundance/biomass in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands using stereo baited remote underwater video.

In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness of a mobile mindfulness training app regarding work and health indicators.
Methods: Participants were employees and assigned randomly to the intervention and control groups.
Background: Many studies have described the prescribing of drugs to pregnant women, but only very few have data concerning the periconceptional period specifically.
Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the incidence of exposure to teratogenic drugs during early pregnancy and to determine whether a safer drug exists.
Methods: In a French health insurances database, we analyzed drugs prescribed during the period starting 1 month before and ending 2 months after the beginning of pregnancy between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2007.
The influence of an industrial waste water containing partly toxic and poorly biodegradable substances on an autotrophic biocenosis was investigated. Nitrifying bacteria were identified using fluorescently-labeled oligonucleotide probes and epifluorescence microscopy. Industrial waste water was used untreated and after ozonation to simulate the effects of indirect discharge to municipal waste water treatment plants.
