Herpes simplex keratitis (HSK) is a prevalent infectious corneal disorder. This study aims to explore the role of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) in HSK, an area that remains underexplored. The investigation centers on the effects of a STAT1 transcription enhancer, 2-NP, on pDCs and its underlying mechanisms.

Three-dimensional (3D) printed surgical models provide an excellent surgical training option to closely mimic real operations to teach medical students who currently rely largely on visual learning aided with simple suturing pads. There is an unmet need to create simple to complex surgical training programs suitable for medical students. A prospective cohort study was conducted on a group of 16 6th year students.

Substance migration is universal and crucial in the synthesis of catalysts, which directly affects their existing form and the micro-structure of their active sites. Realizing migration during the synthesis of single-atom catalysts (SACs) is beneficial for not only increasing their metal loading capacity but also manipulating the electronic structures (coordination structure, long-range interactions, ) of their metal sites. This review summarizes the thermodynamics and kinetic processes involved in the synthesis of SACs to unveil the fundamental principles involved in their synthesis.

Background: Sirolimus is a commonly used immunosuppressant administered after solid organ transplantation. It is characterized by a narrow therapeutic window and highly variable exposure, necessitating the identification of the sources of variability and design of individualized drug therapies.

Aim: This study aimed to perform a population pharmacokinetic (PK) analysis of sirolimus in adult liver transplant recipients and develop dosing regimen recommendations according to patient characteristics.

Existing computer vision-based surface defect detection techniques for metal materials typically encounter issues with defect overlap, significant differences within classes, and similarity between defect samples. These issues compromise feature extraction accuracy and result in missed and false detections. This study proposed a feature optimization-guided high-precision and real-time metal surface defect detection network (FOHR Net) to improve defect feature expressiveness.
