The progress in chemical analytics and understanding of pesticide dynamics in surface waters allows establishing robust data on compounds with frequent exceedances of quality standards. The current chemical, temporal, and spatial coverage of the pesticide monitoring campaigns differs strongly between European countries. A questionnaire revealed differences in monitoring strategies in seven selected European countries; Nordic countries prioritize temporal coverage, while others focus on spatial coverage.

A Transferable Lidar-Based Method to Conduct Contactless Assessments of Gait Parameters in Diverse Home-like Environments.

Gait abnormalities in older adults are linked to increased risks of falls, institutionalization, and mortality, necessitating accurate and frequent gait assessments beyond traditional clinical settings. Current methods, such as pressure-sensitive walkways, often lack the continuous natural environment monitoring needed to understand an individual's gait fully during their daily activities. To address this gap, we present a Lidar-based method capable of unobtrusively and continuously tracking human leg movements in diverse home-like environments, aiming to match the accuracy of a clinical reference measurement system.

Walking into a COVID Petri Dish: Home Care Providers' Experiences during a Pandemic.

As we approach the third anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, the long-term effects on the health and well-being of those caring for patients in their homes, where less control of the environment can be maintained, remain a concern. The purposes of this study were to describe home care providers' experiences caring for patients during the pandemic, barriers and facilitators to the provision of care, and lessons learned for practice during future healthcare crises. A qualitative descriptive study using semistructured interviews was conducted with 13 home care providers.

Assessment of Force Production in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes.

Muscle weakness is a secondary motor symptom of Parkinson's disease (PD), especially in the subtype characterized by postural instability and gait difficulty (PIGD). Since the PIGD subtype also presents worse bradykinesia, we hypothesized that it also shows a decreased rate of force development, which is linked to an increased risk of falling in PD. Therefore, we investigated the effects of PD and PD subtypes on a force production profile and correlated the force production outcomes with clinical symptoms for each PD subtype.
