Leptomeningeal dissemination in H3 K27M- mutant diffuse midline gliomas: clinical characteristics, risk factors, and prognostic insights.

Purpose: This study aimed to describe the incidence, clinical and pathological features, and outcomes of H3 K27M- mutant Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG) patients with leptomeningeal dissemination (LMD) and systematically investigate the predictive and prognostic factors to clarify the response to treatment after the onset of LMD.

Methods: A total of 304 patients diagnosed with DMG from October 17, 2017, to October 17, 2023, were enrolled in this study, of which 32 patients were diagnosed with LMD. Logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify the predictors of LMD, including clinical, molecular, and imaging data.

Potential of Klotho as a Biomarker for Overwork: A Study of Frontline Medical Workers.

Objective: This study evaluates the utility of serum s-αKlotho levels as a quantifiable biomarker for overwork.

Methods: Frontline medical workers aged 20-55 from Yiling People's Hospital of Yichang were recruited. Criteria included non-smokers, non-heavy drinkers, no chronic medication use, and no acute illnesses recently.

Measurement and evaluation of low-carbon tourism development on islands: A case study in Changdao, China.

China's island tourism is still in the exploratory stage, and the carbon emissions due to island tourism development are still prominent. This study assesses the development of low-carbon tourism on Changdao Island in China. We constructed an evaluation model for low-carbon tourism on islands based on the driver-pressure-state-impact-response model, and the Entropy Weight Method-Analytical Hierarchy Process Method was combined with the weighting method to determine the index weights of ench evaluation-indicator.

Design and synthesis of coumarin-based amphoteric antimicrobials with biofilm interference and immunoregulation effects.

Bacterial infections pose a threat to human and animal health, and the formation of biofilm exacerbates the microbial threat. New antimicrobial agents to address this challenge are much needed. In this study, several new amphoteric compounds derived from the natural product coumarin were designed and synthesized by mimicking the structure and function of antimicrobial peptides.
