Background: Burkholderia cenocepacia complex is an important cause of hospital acquired infections. We describe the management of an outbreak in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) due to tap colonisation.

Methods: Microbiological testing of touch (n = 26) and non-touch taps (n = 28), sinks and drains, including genomic sequencing of selected isolates.

Background: Current treatments for adolescents with eating disorders (ED) show limited effectiveness, emphasizing the need for enhanced therapeutic approaches. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has emerged as a potential alternative. A derivative of this approach, group cognitive behavioral therapy (G-CBT), has been shown to reduce treatment costs and increase treatment accessibility when compared to CBT.

The enormous diversity of bacteriophages and their bacterial hosts presents a significant challenge to predict which phages infect a focal set of bacteria. Infection is largely determined by complementary-and largely uncharacterized-genetics of adsorption, injection, cell take-over, and lysis. Here we present a machine learning approach to predict phage-bacteria interactions trained on genome sequences of and phenotypic interactions among 51 strains and 45 phage λ strains that coevolved in laboratory conditions for 37 days.

Introduction: Hypoperfusion index ratio (HIR) measured by computerized tomography perfusion (CTP) has been shown to predict collateral flow state in acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Low HIR (<0.4) is indicative of good collateral flow state.

We report the use of streaming data interfaces to perform fully online data processing for serial crystallography experiments, without storing intermediate data on disk. The system produces Bragg reflection intensity measurements suitable for scaling and merging, with a latency of less than 1 s per frame. Our system uses the CrystFEL software in combination with the ASAP::O data framework.
