Article Synopsis
  • Mycotoxin contamination in cereals poses a significant food safety risk, with bilberries showing promise in reducing these harmful effects.
  • The study assessed the antioxidant properties and phytochemical composition of wild bilberries, including various acids and flavonoids.
  • Results indicated that adding bilberries to bread reduced the harmful effects of ochratoxin A (OTA), improving cell viability and lowering cell death compared to OTA alone.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study focused on Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and ochratoxin A (OTA), which are toxic mycotoxins in food and feed linked to health risks, and aimed to develop an effective method for measuring these toxins in rat urine using advanced laboratory techniques.
  • - Researchers established detection limits for AFB1 and OTA in feed (0.1 µg/kg and 0.3 µg/kg) and urine (0.2 ng/mL and 0.6 ng/mL), achieving a solid recovery rate for both toxins in samples.
  • - The analysis of 116 rat urine samples showed that adding fermented whey and pumpkin to the rats' diet affected the levels of

The purpose of this article is to review the scientific literature concerning speech in Parkinson's disease (PD) with reference to the DIVA/GODIVA neurocomputational modeling framework. Within this theoretical view, the basal ganglia (BG) contribute to several different aspects of speech motor learning and execution. First, the BG are posited to play a role in the initiation and scaling of speech movements.

Phonons play a crucial role in many properties of solid-state systems, and it is expected that topological phonons may lead to rich and unconventional physics. On the basis of the existing phonon materials databases, we have compiled a catalog of topological phonon bands for more than 10,000 three-dimensional crystalline materials. Using topological quantum chemistry, we calculated the band representations, compatibility relations, and band topologies of each isolated set of phonon bands for the materials in the phonon databases.

The prevalence of diabetes has increased in last decades worldwide and is expected to continue to do so in the coming years, reaching alarming figures. Evidence have shown that patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) have intestinal microbial dysbiosis. Moreover, several mechanisms link the microbiota with the appearance of insulin resistance and diabetes.
