Data from invasive CPET (iCPET) revealed long COVID patients have impaired systemic oxygen extraction (EO), suggesting impaired mitochondrial ATP production. However, it remains uncertain whether the initial severity of SARS-CoV-2 infection has implications on EO and exercise capacity (VO) nor has there been assessment of anerobic ATP generation in long COVID patients. iCPET was performed on 47 long COVID patients (i.

Background: Although older adults with heart failure (HF) and multiple chronic conditions (MCC) frequently rely on caregivers for health management, digital health systems, such as patient portals and mobile apps, are designed for individual patients and often exclude caregivers. There is a need to develop approaches that integrate caregivers into care. This study tested the feasibility of the Social Convoy Palliative Care intervention (Convoy-Pal), a 12-week digital self-management program that includes assessment tools and resources for clinical palliative care, designed for both patients and their caregivers.

Cellulose is an abundant component of plant cell wall matrices, and this para-crystalline polysaccharide is synthesized at the plasma membrane by motile Cellulose Synthase Complexes (CSCs). However, the factors that control CSC activity and motility are not fully resolved. In a targeted chemical screen, we identified the alkylated nojirimycin analog N-Dodecyl Deoxynojirimycin (ND-DNJ) as a small molecule that severely impacts Arabidopsis seedling growth.

Background: To describe and establish the efficacy and safety of Mycophenolate Mofetil (Micoflavin) in patients with de novo renal transplantation during one-year post-transplant follow-up. As secondary objectives, the behavior of mycophenolic acid (MPA) C0 levels in this population, the relationship between MPA levels and renal function of the grafts, the incidence of acute rejection, and the incidence of adverse effects were evaluated.

Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted on patients who received a first kidney transplant from a deceased donor between March 1, 2021, and February 28, 2022, at the Alma Mater of Antioquia Hospital of the Antioquia's University, in Medellín, Colombia.
