Objective: Countertransference (CT) has been shown to interfere with therapy goals, and its management is crucial to desired treatment outcomes. As a first step, a clinician's awareness of their covert and overt CT reactions is critical to successfully managing CT. Research on CT awareness is scarce, however, mainly because of difficulties in empirically investigating and measuring this construct.

Regulating Nrf2 activity: ubiquitin ligases and signaling molecules in redox homeostasis.

Transcription factor NF-E2 p45-related factor 2 (Nrf2) orchestrates defenses against oxidants and thiol-reactive electrophiles. It is controlled at the protein stability level by several E3 ubiquitin ligases (CRL3, CRL4, SCF, and Hrd1). CRL3 is of the greatest importance because it constitutively targets Nrf2 for proteasomal degradation under homeostatic conditions but is prevented from doing so by oxidative stressors.

Comparative cardiometabolic safety and effectiveness of aripiprazole in people with severe mental illness: A target trial emulation.

Background: There is limited and conflicting evidence on the comparative cardiometabolic safety and effectiveness of aripiprazole in the management of severe mental illness. We investigated the hypothesis that aripiprazole has a favourable cardiometabolic profile, but similar effectiveness when compared to olanzapine, quetiapine, and risperidone.

Methods And Findings: We conducted an observational emulation of a head-to-head trial of aripiprazole versus olanzapine, quetiapine, and risperidone in UK primary care using data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink.

Accommodation microfluctuation in individuals with mTBI and the potential effect of chromatic filter on this parameter.

Individuals with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) exhibit significant accommodative abnormalities. Accommodation microfluctuation (MFs) plays an important role in the accommodation steady-state control. This study was set to investigate the characteristics of the MFs in mTBI subjects and whether chromatic filter (CF) or neutral density filter (ND) would impact these parameters.
