Pharmacology, safety, efficacy and clinical uses of the COX-2 inhibitor robenacoxib.

Robenacoxib is a veterinary-approved non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the coxib group. It possesses anti-hyperalgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-pyretic properties. Robenacoxib inhibits the cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 isoform of COX selectively (in vitro IC ratios COX-1:COX-2, 129:1 in dogs, 32:1 in cats).

Filtering performances of 20 protective fabrics against solid aerosols.

Workers can be exposed to solid airborne particles in some occupational environments, and they might be required to wear chemical protective clothing to prevent skin exposure. Dedicated standards exist to certify the protective value of such clothing, but they are not informative enough to identify the main pathways of entry for solid particles nor to compare performances between different chemical protective clothing. In this work, 20 non-woven fabrics used to make chemical protective clothing for solid particle protection were selected to be examined for both filtration and comfort performances.

Safety of a benazepril and pimobendan combination tablet in adult healthy dogs.

The objective of the study was to investigate the safety of a combination tablet of benazepril and pimobendan, Fortekor PLUS , in a randomized, blinded, parallel-group design study in healthy adult beagle dogs. The test article, Fortekor PLUS tablets, was administered orally twice daily for 6 months at one, two, and four times the highest recommended dosage of 0.5 mg/kg benazepril hydrochloride/0.

Robenacoxib versus meloxicam for the control of peri-operative pain and inflammation associated with orthopaedic surgery in cats: a randomised clinical trial.

Background: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used in veterinary medicine. Robenacoxib is a NSAID with high selectivity for the cyclo-oxygenase-2 enzyme. In this study, the efficacy and safety of robenacoxib were evaluated in a prospective, randomised, active- and placebo-controlled masked clinical trial in 147 cats undergoing orthopaedic surgery.
