Machine learning techniques (MLTs) offer great power in analyzing complex data sets and have not previously been applied to non-occupational pollutant exposure. MLT models that can predict personal exposure to benzene have been developed and compared with a standard model using a linear regression approach (GLM). The models were tested against independent data sets obtained from three personal exposure measurement campaigns.

Background: Children with inflammatory bowel disease are at risk of vaccine-preventable diseases mostly due to immunosuppressive drugs.

Aim: To evaluate coverage after an awareness campaign informing patients, their parents and general practitioner about the vaccination schedule.

Methods: Vaccination coverage was firstly evaluated and followed by an awareness campaign on the risk of infection via postal mail.

Aim: To assess knowledge acquired by adolescents about their inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Methods: An anonymous questionnaire was given during consultation to adolescents followed for IBD by pediatricians from 13 hospitals between 1 September 2012 and 1 July 2013. After parental consent, these physicians completed a form at the inclusion of each patient, in which the characteristics of IBD were detailed.

Background And Aims: Catheter venous thrombosis may result in life-threatening embolic complications. Recently, a thrombophilic tendency was described in cystic fibrosis (CF), the significance of which remains unclear. The aims of this study were to (1) document the frequency of catheter venous thrombosis detected by colour-Doppler-ultrasound (Doppler-US), (2) assess genetic and acquired thrombophilia risk factors for catheter venous thrombosis and hypercoagulability status and (3) provide recommendations on laboratory screening when considering insertion of a totally implantable vascular access device (TIVAD) in CF patients.
