A challenge for public health is to make recommendations for the intake of vitamin D to optimize health and prevent disease. Vitamin D supplementation can be accomplished using vitamin D (from fungi), vitamin D (from vertebrate sources), or as the prehormone 25 hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD). While these three sources are generally effective for raising and maintaining vitamin D status, their effect is not identical.

Introduction/aims: Institutions and organizations, including the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM), have committed to embracing principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Notwithstanding this commitment, studies repeatedly demonstrate that women physicians are less likely to receive awards in medicine and research compared to their male counterparts. Whether women physicians are less likely to be recognized with AANEM awards is unknown.

This review systematically examined the reporting of sex and female participation in post-stroke lower extremity (LE) motor rehabilitation randomized controlled trials (RCTs) over time and identified differences in female participation across RCTs conducted in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs), high-income-countries (HICs), and HIC-regions. Systematic searches were conducted of MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL and PsycINFO from 1970 to May 2022. RCTs in English were included if they examined post-stroke LE motor rehabilitation interventions in adults diagnosed with stroke.
