The issue of obesity continues to reach new levels globally, affecting individuals across the age continuum. Obesity in pregnancy is associated with myriad comorbidities which may negatively impact the fetus, particularly dysfunctional labor and failure to progress ending in unplanned cesarean delivery. Neuraxial anesthesia represents the gold standard for cesarean delivery anesthesia and is increasingly beneficial for obese patients due to the risk of difficult airway.

Socioeconomic disparities and trends in the utilization of regional and neuraxial anesthesia for pediatric femur fracture repair.

Pediatric femur fractures often necessitate surgical intervention, with pain management being critical for both immediate and long-term outcomes. Peripheral nerve blocks (PNBs) and neuraxial techniques are effective in providing targeted pain relief while minimizing systemic opioid exposure. Despite their benefits, the utilization of these anesthesia techniques in pediatric orthopedic surgeries is limited, particularly among socioeconomically disadvantaged patients.

Prevalence of Oral Diseases and the Influence of the Presence of Overweight/Obesity in Schoolchildren Population in Mallorca.

The pediatric population is one of the social groups most affected by oral pathology, and overweight and/or obesity is increasingly frequently observed. This work presents a study of the prevalence of oral disease in the school population in Mallorca and its relationship with overweight/obesity. A cross-sectional study was carried out with a sample of 718 students aged 5-6 ( = 255), 12 ( = 230) and 15 years ( = 233).

Background And Objective: Due to the potential debilitating sequelae following pediatric mTBI, the CDC published the Guideline on the Diagnosis and Management of mTBI Among Children in 2018. However, the guideline identified several key gaps in our clinical knowledge to support several clinical recommendations. The objective of this review is to evaluate if subsequent research has addressed these gaps in clinical practice recommendations.
