The scalable synthesis of non-precious nanoporous metals, such as nanoporous zinc (NP-Zn), nanoporous iron (NP-Fe), and nanoporous aluminum (NP-Al), is crucial for large-scale production of hydrogen through the reaction between non-precious metals and water. The fabrication of bulk NP-Zn by selective removal of Al from sub-centimeter-sized arc-melted Zn-Al parent alloys through free corrosion dealloying usually takes a few days. Here, we demonstrate that this free corrosion dealloying process can be reduced from a few days to 4 min simply using micrometer-sized Zn-Al powder particles with nominal composition ZnAl atomic % produced by gas atomization as the parent alloy.

In geriatrics and dementia care, early diagnosis is crucial. We developed a dementia screening model using drawing features from clock drawing tests (CDT) and investigated the features contributing to the discrimination of dementia and its screening performance. This study included 129 older adults attending a dementia outpatient clinic.

The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of combined exercise and nutrition interventions on physical function and quality of life (QOL) in patients with acute leukemia or malignant lymphoma (ML) during inpatient chemotherapy. The study was a randomized controlled trial where patients with acute leukemia or ML who were receiving inpatient chemotherapy and exercise therapy were divided into an intervention group (IG) and a control group (CG). Both groups underwent resistance training and aerobic exercise.

Introduction: A bidirectional relationship has been observed between type 2 diabetes mellitus and sarcopenia, especially among older adults. While previous studies have reported that imeglimin improves mitochondrial function, they have not assessed its effects on muscle strength in patients with type 2 diabetes. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the effects of imeglimin on muscle strength in patients with type 2 diabetes.

A 58-year-old male with acute cholangitis due to a common bile duct stone underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for stone removal with endoscopic papillary balloon dilation (EPBD) due to his high bleeding risk owing to maintenance dialysis and antiplatelet and anticoagulant medications. He had a history of stone removal using an EPBD. The stone was removed; however, the patient subsequently developed spurting bleeding and underwent endoscopic hemostasis.
