A 34-year-old worker suffered electrical burns on his head and right hand caused by the contact with a 380 V power source. He was unconscious, intubated, hospitalised at the ICU, and later he woke up. The entry wound was on the right hand and the exit wound on the head.

The authors report a rare case of the simultaneous double interphalangeal dislocation in the little finger of the left hand. A 35-year-old man, playing football as a goalkeeper, was injured when another player trod on his little finger. The dislocation was reduced by traction without anesthesia and the finger was immobilized on a splint.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFloating elbow is an injury that is characterized by simultaneous fracture of humerus and forearm of the same extremity. The injury is caused by high energy (falls, car accidents) and is often associated with extensive soft tissue contusion of affected limb and there may be present lesion of neurocircular bundle. Operative treatment (minimally invasive percutaneous pinning) should be performed as soon as possible after patient's admission and this treatment should be preferred before circular casting, which may cause compartment syndrome.

Authors evaluate results of fractures of distal radius in a group of patients who were treated with the method of percutaneous osteosynthesis by means of K-wires.Two systems were used in the evaluation. Using the Green and O'Brien evaluation system modified by Cooney excellent and good results were achieved in 54,2 % patients.
