Evaluation of One Step Nucleic Acid Amplification for detection of lymph node metastases compared to histopathological ultrastaging in women with endometrial cancer: a protocol for a diagnostic accuracy study.

Background: This is a multicentre, European, prospective trial evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of One Step Nucleic Acid Amplification (OSNA) compared to sentinel lymph nodes histopathological ultrastaging in endometrial cancer patients.

Methods: Centres with expertise in sentinel lymph node mapping in endometrial cancer patients in Europe will be invited to participate in the study. Participating units will be trained on the correct usage of the OSNA RD-210 analyser and nucleic acid amplification reagent kit LYNOAMP CK19 E for rapid detection of metastatic nodal involvement, based on the cytokeratin 19 (CK19) mRNA detection.

Survival associated with the use of sentinel lymph node in addition to lymphadenectomy in early-stage cervical cancer treated with surgery alone: A sub-analysis of the Surveillance in Cervical CANcer (SCCAN) collaborative study.

Aim: The aim of this study was to assess whether the use of sentinel lymph node (SLN) in addition to lymphadenectomy was associated with survival benefit in patients with early-stage cervical cancer.

Methods: International, multicenter, retrospective study.

Inclusion Criteria: cervical cancer treated between 01/2007 and 12/2016 by surgery only; squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma, FIGO 2009 stage IB1-IIA2, negative surgical margins, and laparotomy approach.

Molecular substratification of endometrial carcinomas with no special molecular profile (NSMP) by using a limited NGS custom panel may facilitate effective patient selection for the PIK3CA-targeted therapy.

Endometrial carcinomas (EC) of no special molecular profile (NSMP) represent the largest molecular category of EC, comprising a mixture of tumors with different histology and molecular profiles. These facts likely point to different tumor biology, clinical outcomes, and targeted therapy responses within this molecular category. The PIK3CA is currently the only targetable kinase oncoprotein directly implicated in EC carcinogenesis.
