The aim of the study was to perform microbiological and molecular analysis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex strains isolated from patients with pulmonary tuberculosis originating from two different regions of Silesia voivodship in 2000 year. One of 135 strains subjected to the study lacked IS6110 insertion sequence. Its belonging to Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex was confirmed by positive test for specific gyrB gene sequence.

The evolution of threshold values of air conduction in the extended high frequency range (9-18 kHz) at patients suffering from the active pulmonary tuberculosis treated with the combined therapy (SM, INH, RFM, PZA). There were audiologically examined 13 patients (the average age 41.2) suffering from the active pulmonary tuberculosis and treated with the combined therapy (SM, INH, RFM, PZA).

Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) and pulmonary function tests were carried out in 22 patients with chronic, extrinsic allergic alveolitis. In all a marked decrease of diffusion capacity was observed. The mean DLCO values was 34% predicted value.
