Atopic dermatitis (AD) is the most frequent allergic disease in dogs. AD can be treated using allergenspecific immunotherapy as well as symptomatic antipruritic treatment including the use of lokivetmab - caninized anti-interleukine-31 antibody.The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of lokivetmab over 12 weeks of treat-ment.

A European field assessment of the efficacy of fluralaner (Bravecto) chewable and spot-on formulations for treatment of dogs with generalized demodicosis.

Background: Recent reports indicate that the isoxazoline compounds have the potential to provide safe and effective treatment of canine generalized demodicosis, a condition that has been traditionally difficult to cure. Controlled field studies are needed to confirm this potential. A study was therefore initiated to investigate the efficacy of a single oral or spot-on treatment with fluralaner, an isoxazoline, compared with multiple topical treatments with imidacloprid-moxidectin, in dogs naturally affected by generalized demodicosis.

Methods And Materials: The authors served as a Guideline Panel (GP) and reviewed the literature available before December 2018.

Cutaneous paraneoplastic syndrome in a cat with thymoma.

Feline cutaneous paraneoplastic syndrome is a rare disorder associated mainly with pancreatic carcinoma and thymoma. In this report the authors describe the case of a 12-year-old cat with paraneoplastic exfoliative dermatitis associated with thymoma. Lateral radiographic examination of the chest showed a small subtle soft tissue density in the ventral part of the first and second intercostal space, which together with skin changes suggested thymoma.

Clinical aspects of dermatophytosis in dogs.

Dermatophytosis in dogs is variable and can clinically mimics other skin diseases. Diagnosis based on clinical presentation may be misleading and additional laboratory tests are needed for a final diagnosis. A systematic diagnostic procedure can prevent a wrong diagnosis and allow for the right treatment.
