Introduction: Diagnostics of small bowel Crohn's disease (CD) can be difficult. Combined positron emission tomography-magnetic resonance enterography (PET-MRE) can be used to evaluate intestinal metabolism, but clinical use has been limited due to accessibility, costs, absence of standardized methods, and diagnostic thresholds. Our aim was to show that combined PET-MRE can be used to diagnose active small bowel CD.

Background: Pervasive technologies are used to investigate various phenomena outside the laboratory setting, providing valuable insights into real-world human behavior and interaction with the environment. However, conducting longitudinal field trials in natural settings remains challenging due to factors such as low recruitment success and high dropout rates due to participation burden or data quality issues with wireless sensing in changing environments.

Objective: This study gathers insights and lessons from 3 real-world longitudinal field studies assessing human behavior and derives factors that impacted their research success.

Tuberculosis necrotizing toxin (TNT) is a protein domain discovered on the outer membrane of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), and the fungal pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus. TNT domains have pure NAD(P) hydrolytic activity, setting them apart from other NAD-cleaving domains such as ADP-ribosyl cyclase and Toll/interleukin-1 receptor homology (TIR) domains which form a wider set of products. Importantly, the Mtb TNT domain has been shown to be involved in immune evasion via depletion of the intracellular NAD pool of macrophages.

Introduction: Previous studies show that dental health is associated with educational and labour market outcomes, but it is unclear whether dental care records in childhood can serve as early markers of financial hardship risk in adulthood.

Methods: Data on sociodemographic variables and dental records of all children born in Finland and who lived their childhood in the city of Espoo were obtained from national registers (=1867). Debt defaults at the age of 23 years were used as a measure of adulthood financial hardship.
