Unlabelled: Steroid 5α-reductase (5αR) converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a potent androgen driving prostate cell proliferation via the androgen receptor (AR). Both 5αR and AR play crucial roles in androgen-mediated disorders, making them key therapeutic targets in drug development. Current treatments target these enzymes individually and often cause significant side effects, highlighting the need for safer alternatives.

Objectives: Chagas Disease, caused by the parasite , remains a significant public health concern, particularly in Latin America. The current standard treatment for Chagas Disease, benznidazole, is associated with various side effects, necessitating the search for alternative therapeutic options. In this study, we aimed to identify potential therapeutics for Chagas Disease through a comprehensive computational analysis.

The objective of this study was to examine the toxicogenomic impacts of ibuprofen and dibutyl phthalate on , a widely distributed African catfish species. Results showed that exposure to the test compounds caused significant changes in gene expression, including upregulation of growth hormone, interleukin, melatonin receptors, 17β-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase, heat shock protein, doublesex, and mab-3 related transcription factor.

Qualitative and quantitative analysis of Alligator pepper seeds (Aframomum melegueta), Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera), Neem leaves (Azadirachta indica), Ginger bulbs (Zingiber officinale) and Garlic (Allium sativum) and their potencies in reference to praziquantel against Clarias gariepinus and different classes of helminth parasites were investigated. The results obtained show that the 70% ethanol extract had 80 to 100% presence of the phytochemical content, compared with the 100% aqueous and 100% ethanol extracts with 50 to 80% and 50 to 90%, respectively.

A library of compounds from , commonly known as fenugreek was used in this study. We aimed to explore its potential anti-cancer effects by computationally assessing its inhibitory activity on the androgen receptor (AR).
