Incidence of Radiologically Confirmed Fractures in Adults With Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Introduction/aims: An increased risk of low trauma fractures is well documented in children and adolescents with duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). There is limited evidence regarding the fracture incidence of adults with DMD. The aim of this study was to examine radiologically confirmed fractures in adults with DMD and review bone health monitoring.

Purpose: Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) data for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) indicates a concerning increase in the proportion of children who are at risk or developmentally vulnerable in the domains of communication and general knowledge, and language and cognitive skills. This study investigated the effectiveness of speech-language pathologist and educator collaboration to build educator capacity to promote oral language and emergent literacy skills in preschool children.

Method: A quasi-experimental, pre-test post-test design was used to evaluate the effectiveness of interprofessional delivery of on (a) children's oral language and emergent literacy outcomes, (b) educators' oral language and emergent literacy instructional practices, and (c) quality of the classroom environment.

Estimating the environmental impacts of global lithium-ion battery supply chain: A temporal, geographical, and technological perspective.

A sustainable low-carbon transition via electric vehicles will require a comprehensive understanding of lithium-ion batteries' global supply chain environmental impacts. Here, we analyze the cradle-to-gate energy use and greenhouse gas emissions of current and future nickel-manganese-cobalt and lithium-iron-phosphate battery technologies. We consider existing battery supply chains and future electricity grid decarbonization prospects for countries involved in material mining and battery production.

The Professional and Legal Relationship Between a Certified Nurse-midwife and Their Obstetrician/Gynecologist Physician Colleagues.

The article describes the relationship between a certified nurse-midwife and their supervising obstetrician. The article deals with the relationship of both parties and the requirement of a collaborative agreement in a majority of states. The legal responsibilities of both the certified nurse-midwife and obstetrician are discussed and how it impacts both providers.

The relationship between student's perceptions of their school environment and academic achievement.

Research within an educational context has demonstrated the importance of variables such as socioeconomic status, gender and school attendance as predictors of academic achievement, however research investigating the role of the physical learning environment on academic achievement is more limited and what research has been conducted often focuses on objective characteristics such as temperature, air quality and noise. In contrast this study measures students' subjective perceptions of their physical school environment and explores how these perceptions along with socioeconomic status, gender and school attendance relate to academic achievement. In addition, we also examined a range of other important variables that could be potential mediating factors between environmental perceptions and academic achievement.
