Survivors of childhood cancer face reduced fertility, which can be a significant cause for concern. Our study aimed to assess the prevalence of fertility-related concerns and identify associated factors. Self-report data were collected with the Long-Term Survivor Questionnaire at the Alberta Children's Hospital's Long-Term Survivor Clinic (LTSC) between January 2021 and September 2023.

This study explores the liquid crystalline properties of novel amphiphilic β-cyclodextrin derivatives functionalized with seven oligoethylene glycol chains at the primary face, terminated with either an O-methyl or an O-cyanoethyl group, and fourteen hydrophobic aliphatic chains (elaidic or oleic acids) at the secondary face. These derivatives were designed to study the impact of chain conformation and terminal group polarity on their mesomorphic behavior. Thermal, microscopic, and X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the elaidic derivatives form columnar hexagonal mesophases, with the O-cyanoethyl derivative undergoing a slow, temperature-dependent transition to a bicontinuous cubic phase.

GATA zinc finger domain containing 1 (GATAD1) is an as-yet uncharacterized zinc finger domain protein, which was initially identified as a histone 3 trimethylated at lysine 4 (H3K4me3) interactor. A recessive mutation in GATAD1 is associated with adult-onset dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure, suggesting that GATAD1 is critical for maintaining normal cardiac structure and function. However, little is known as to the specific role of GATAD1 in cardiomyocytes.

Latin transgender and gender-diverse (LTGGD) individuals experienced the public health measures mandated during the COVID-19 pandemic in unique ways. Intersecting ethnic and gender-identifying frameworks contributes to differing access, support, and well-being observations. The aim of this study was to examine emerging adult LTGGD individuals' perceptions of their health and well-being experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic in South Florida.
