Structural analysis of cellulose nanofibril (CNF) films remains challenging due to the stochastic assembly of fibres and presence of nanopores. This limits our ability to link the film structures to their properties, restricting their commercial use. While X-ray micro-computed tomography (μCT) is a powerful technique to map the structure of traditional and commercial paper, there has been limited success in its application for CNF films due to the poor contrast between pores and material, making the reconstructed images difficult to segment and analyse.

In September 2020, the Western United States experienced anomalously severe wildfires that resulted in carbon monoxide (CO) emissions almost three times the 2001-2019 average. In this study, we investigate the influence of wildfires on atmospheric carbon monoxide (CO) variability through a comparative analysis of observations from the Measurements of Pollution in the Troposphere (MOPITT), the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI), and the Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI). Our focus is on the North American domain, aiming to understand the differences among these products.

ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) synthesizes acetyl-CoA for de novo lipogenesis (DNL), which is elevated in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease. Hepatic ACLY is inhibited by the LDL-cholesterol-lowering drug bempedoic acid (BPA), which also improves steatosis in mice. While BPA potently suppresses hepatic DNL and increases fat catabolism, it is unclear if ACLY is its primary molecular target in reducing liver triglyceride.
