In a quest to explore interconvertible assemblies of hydrates of cobalt(II), copper(II), and zinc(II) 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylate (), complexes having cation of a chloro-substituted analogue N-{(10-chloroanthracen-9-yl)methyl}-3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propan-1-amine were investigated. In the case of cobalt and copper complexes, a crystallized stable hydrate and a less stable methanol hydrate were guided by concentration-dependent crystallizations. The unit-cells of the crystals of the methanol hydrates of the two cobalt and copper complexes each belong to the P1̅ space group but have different stoichiometries as well as large differences in packing.

Introduction Cadaveric dissection has remained the mainstay of anatomy teaching. However, there is an acute shortage of cadavers for teaching undergraduate students, postgraduates, and specialists, and to supplement the gap, voluntary body donation is gaining momentum. The present study aims to explore the barriers to body donations for anatomical dissection.

Distinct changes in the fluorescence emissions of free ligand 5-(1,3-dioxo-1-benzo[de]isoquinolin-2(3)-yl)isophthalic acid (HNAPHISO) than a 2D-zinc-coordination polymer of it, caused by sequential interactions with different sets of binary cations were observed. The coordination polymer having unsymmetrical ZnO core of tetranuclear zinc-node could be dispersed in dimethylformamide without its degradation. The coordination polymer had an emission peak at 435 nm (quantum yield = 0.

The ability of -(1,3-dioxo-1-benzo[de]isoquinolin-2(3)-yl)isonicotinamide (naphydrazide) or 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (2,6-Hpdc) individually or as a bi-component system in distinguishing and detecting Fe or Fe and Cd ions was investigated. The use of these molecules as single or bi-component analytes in absorption or emission spectroscopy studies showed that under specific conditions each had their own merits for specific purposes. UV-visible spectroscopic studies of 2,6-Hpdc for assessing the interactions with ferrous and ferric ions showed characteristic distinctions.

The synthesis and characterization of specific - and -isomers of a cobalt(II) bis-nalidixate complex with a pyridine-based urea, 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)urea (L), ligand are reported. The two isomers, cis-[Co(L)2(NALD)2]·0.5DMF·H2O and trans-[Co(L)2(NALD)2]·2DMF·2H2O (the nalidixate anion is abbreviated to NALD) were prepared by anion-guided synthesis.
