The last French department, created in 2011, Mayotte still lacks its integration into official health statistics, making it difficult to adapt care facilities to needs, as well as planning for prevention. We conducted a retrospective epidemiological study including all patients treated in the Mayotte burns unit between February 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023 (339 patients). We first studied burn patients on the island, i.

This work was aimed to explore the antioxidative properties, bioavailability and the safety of bioactive peptides obtained by the enzymatic hydrolysis of ultrasound-treated (UO) and untreated (nUO) soybean okara proteins. Particularly, the peptidomic profiles of both hydrolysates were examined using an untargeted metabolomics technique for suspect screening that was specifically designed for the profiling of short-chain peptides and relied on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) and bioinformatics. Next, both UO and nUO hydrolysates reduce Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) enzyme activity until 39.

Article Synopsis
  • Amphibians are a diverse group of tetrapods facing significant threats, with about 41% of species at risk of extinction due to various factors like habitat loss and climate change.
  • Genomic research on amphibians is critical for understanding their biology, including unique traits like tissue regeneration and adaptation, yet it has lagged behind other vertebrates due to technical challenges.
  • The newly formed Amphibian Genomics Consortium (AGC) aims to enhance global collaboration and accelerate genomic research in amphibians, with over 282 members from 41 countries already involved.

Zinc-Manganese spinel ferrites (ZnMnFeO) are nowadays very attractive magnetic materials for cancer diagnostic and therapy. With the help of intense ultrasonic waves, sonochemical synthesis method was used to prepare stoichiometric and chemically homogenous nanoparticles by varying the manganese content. The crystal structure along with the size and shape of the as-prepared nanoparticles were described using XRD, TEM and FT-IR techniques, while cations distribution was carefully investigated using XPS and Mössbauer spectroscopic techniques and supported with density functional theory calculations.
