Granuloma annulare (GA) is a benign inflammatory skin condition that most commonly presents on the dorsal surfaces of the hands and feet. The etiology of GA is unknown; however, it has been associated with multiple triggers, including malignancy and targeted cancer therapy drugs. This case report describes a 66-year-old female with metastatic breast cancer on ribociclib who presented with painful, erythematous papules on the palmar surfaces of the hands.

However, it is currently challenging to adequately model this interface in vitro, as it requires not only the co-culture of human alveolar epithelial and endothelial cells but mainly the preparation of a biocompatible scaffold that mimics the basement membrane. This scaffold should support cell seeding from both sides, and maintain optimal cell adhesion, growth, and differentiation conditions.

The development of 3D organoids has provided a valuable tool for studying human tissue and organ development in vitro. Cerebral organoids, in particular, offer a unique platform for investigating neural diseases. However, current methods for generating cerebral organoids suffer from limitations such as labor-intensive protocols and high heterogeneity among organoids.

Although comprehensively investigating these processes in nature is challenging, the infrastructure and data from long-term ecological research networks can support cross-disciplinary investigations. We propose using these networks to advance our understanding of fundamental evolutionary processes and responses to global change.
