Deployment of a transportable Yb optical lattice clock.

We report on the first deployment of a ytterbium (Yb) transportable optical lattice clock (TOLC), commercially shipping the clock 3000 km from Boulder, Colorado, to Washington DC. The system, composed of a rigidly mounted optical reference cavity, an atomic physics package, and an optical frequency comb, fully realizes an independent frequency standard for comparisons in the optical and microwave domains. The shipped Yb TOLC was fully operational within 2 days of arrival, enabling frequency comparison with a rubidium (Rb) fountain at the United States Naval Observatory (USNO).

While several prey traits potentially impact resistance to predation, their effects in a multispecies context remain unclear. Here, we leverage synthetic bacterial communities of varying complexity to identify traits driving palatability for nematodes, a main consumer of bacteria in soil.

Comparative efficacy of leniolisib (CDZ173) versus standard of care on rates of respiratory tract infection and serum immunoglobulin M (IgM) levels among individuals with activated phosphoinositide 3-kinase delta (PI3Kδ) syndrome (APDS): An externally-controlled study.

Leniolisib, an oral, targeted phosphoinositide 3-kinase delta (PI3Kδ) inhibitor, was well-tolerated and efficacious versus placebo in treating individuals with activated PI3Kδ syndrome (APDS), an ultra-rare inborn error of immunity (IEI), in a 12-week randomised controlled trial. However, longer-term comparative data versus standard of care are lacking. This externally controlled study compared the long-term effects of leniolisib on annual rate of respiratory tract infections and change in serum immunoglobulin M (IgM) levels versus current standard of care, using data from the leniolisib single-arm open-label extension study 2201E1 (NCT02859727) and the European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID) registry.

Exploring diet as a source of plasticizers in pregnancy and implications for maternal second-trimester metabolic health.

Background And Objectives: Diet plays critical roles in modulating maternal metabolic health in pregnancy, but is also a source of metabolic-disrupting phthalates and their replacements. We aimed to evaluate whether the effects of better diet quality on favorable maternal metabolic outcomes could be partially explained by lower exposure to phthalates/replacements.

Methods: At 13 weeks gestation, 295 Illinois women (enrolled 2015-2018) completed a three-month food frequency questionnaire that we used to calculate the Alternative Healthy Eating Index (AHEI)-2010 to assess diet quality.
