Objective: Given the relevance of internalised stigma in people suffering from a mental disorder, in the present study, the possible mediating and moderating role of self-stigma in the relationship between personal recovery and symptomatology has been studied.

Method: 265 participants with severe mental disorder completed the following instruments: ISMI (self-stigma), REE (personal recovery) and HoNOS, CGI, GAF and EuroQol (symptomatology).

Results: both the mediation and moderation analyses show significant results, which would indicate that internalised stigma has an effect on the relationship between personal recovery and symptomatology.

Background: Hispanic patients receive disproportionately fewer kidney transplants (KT) than non-Hispanic White (NHW) patients. In this observational study, we evaluated disparities in completing evaluation steps to KT among Hispanic patients.

Methods: Using medical records of Hispanic and NHW patients initiating evaluation at 4 transplant centers from January 2011 to March 2020, we performed sequential Cox models to compare Hispanic versus NHW patients reaching each step of the evaluation process until receiving a KT.

Alveolar type 2 epithelial cells (AT2s) derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iAT2s) have rapidly contributed to our understanding of AT2 function and disease. However, while iAT2s are primarily cultured in three-dimensional (3D) Matrigel, a matrix derived from cancerous mouse tissue, it is unclear how a physiologically relevant matrix will impact iAT2s phenotype. As extracellular matrix (ECM) is recognized as a vital component in directing cellular function and differentiation, we sought to derive hydrogels from decellularized human lung alveolar-enriched ECM (aECM) to provide an ex vivo model to characterize the role of physiologically relevant ECM on iAT2 phenotype.
