Understanding the spatial ecology of commercially exploited species is vital for their conservation. Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus, ABT) are increasingly observed in northeast Atlantic waters, yet knowledge of these individuals' spatial ecology remains limited. We investigate the horizontal and vertical habitat use of ABT (158 to 241 cm curved fork length; CFL) tracked from waters off the United Kingdom (UK) using pop-up satellite archival tags (n = 63).

Background: Circulatory support with a catheter-based microaxial flow pump (mAFP) plays a major role in the treatment of severe cardiogenic shock. In most patients who fail to recover while on temporary mechanical circulatory support (tMCS) and who are not eligible for heart transplantation, durable left ventricular assist device (dLVAD) implantation is usually considered a reliable option. Bats inhabiting northern latitudes are faced with short reproductive seasons during which they must produce and rear pups before fattening up in time to survive the winter hibernation. It is essential to understand the P dynamics of recycled biomaterials, like biochar derived from sewage sludge, especially with potential application as fertilizers. The objective of this study was to understand how pyrolysis affects the speciation of P in sewage sludge and thereby the effect on labile P pools and mobility of P in soil. The P speciation and lability of two sewage sludges (one biologically treated and one iron-precipitated) and their biochars (pyrolyzed at 400 °C and 600 °C) were determined by liquid state P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy, and sequential chemical extraction.
