Biochar is an eco-friendly carbon material whose properties allow it to be used as a sorbent for wastewater treatment or soil remediation. The paper presents the results of research related to the pyrolysis process of apple waste after supercritical CO extraction with the simultaneous use of physical activation. The research assessed the influence of the temperature of the pyrolysis process and steam activation on the structural properties of the obtained biochar, i.

In this study, minimally invasive surgery (MIS) decompression (MIS-D) and MIS short-segment fusion (MIS-SF) in patients with DLS were compared in a propensity score-matched analysis.
Methods: The propensity score was calculated using 13 variables: sex, age, BMI, Charlson Comorbidity Index, smoking status, leg pain, back pain, grade 1 spondylolisthesis, lateral spondylolisthesis, multilevel spondylolisthesis, lumbar Cobb angle, pelvic incidence minus lumbar lordosis, and pelvic tilt in a logistic regression model.
The aim of this study was to assess whether electrical parameters (capacitance and conductivity) of fresh engine oils-tested over a wide range of measurement voltage frequencies-can be used for oil quality assessment and its identification, based on physicochemical properties. The study encompassed 41 commercial engine oils with different quality ratings (American Petroleum Institute (API) and European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA)). As part of the study, the oils were tested for their total base number (TBN) and total acid number (TAN), as well as their electrical parameters, including impedance magnitude, phase shift angle, conductance, susceptance, capacitance and quality factor.

Many issues associated with chemical stability during processing and storage and use of the SEs in ambient conditions need to be addressed. Now, the effect of water as well as oxyhdryl group ( OH) on NaBi O Cl are investigated by evaluating ionic conductivity.

However, the agglomeration of fillers and weak interaction restrict their conductivities. By contrast with the prevailing methods of blending preformed ceramic fillers within the polymer matrix, here we proposed an in situ synthesis method of SiO nanoparticles in the PEO matrix.
